A while back, I had read another book by this author called 'The Mostly True Story of Jack.' It was one of those books that you liked well enough while reading and wasn't really anything special, but you keep thinking about and coming back to the story, the characters, and the little magics in it. So when I saw this new book by her, I picked it up right away. The Witch's Boy was another one of that kind of book. I loved the magic in a pot and the words on Ned's skin. You never think about things like that, but when you find a book like this, you realize how amazing the author's imagination is.
