This is a prime example of stick with the book and you'll enjoy it. The Worst Ronin is a unique story about two female samurai who go on a mission, one to prove herself and one for money. With this mindset, it's clear they are an unlikely pair. At the beginning of this story I wasn't sure how it was going to unfold and I wasn't really sold on the plot. But I figured, graphic novel - I'll be able to push through and I'm so glad I did. This turned quickly into a cute and rewarding story. I thought it was interesting the blend of feudal Japan and modern technology of cell phones. This added a unique twist but didn't take away from the atmosphere of the book. The art work was amazing and truly captured the characters emotions. Whether it was Chihiro’s reaction on being scolded or the secret smile given by Tatsuo. Each block was well thought out and I loved it.

The characters and the story truly brought out the best in the artwork. I was laughing and angry but most importantly I was connected to the story. I really hope there are more adventures with these two because they compliment each other so well and their adventures seem far from over. I highly recommend this if you are a fan of graphic novels with a mismatched pair and Japanese over-tones, then you'll love this!
