Powerful tale of a family whose life is turned upside down after one horrific event. This memoir is told through two perspectives: nine year old Cylin and her father John.
I could not put this memoir down. What I liked best about the writing is the format. It helps the reader understand not only how the adults dealt with the situation, but also how the children struggled and coped. It gives a whole new perspective about the sacrifices that police officers and other public servants sometimes have to make for the benefit of the public.
A story about redemption and recovery, and of hope and healing. This is one families should read together. Get from teens and parents.
