Everyone nowadays, it seems, has joined the cult of celebrity. We want to KNOW what its like to be one, feel what its like to have their life, get the inside scoop on what theyre thinking, wearing, doing&Are they really like what they appear to be?

Emily Fine gets the chance to actually live with a celebrity: racy, sexy Theodora Twist. She happens to live in Theodoras old house in her old home town. She was also (briefly) a friend of Theodoras back before she was famous they had both lost a father and Emily had been introduced to the young Dora (as she was known then) to help her through the aftermath.

Theodora has a particularly bad bad girl image that she needs to clean up and her agent has set her up with a new reality show shes going back to her old home town, moving in with Emilys family and is going to be a regular teenager for a while. Hahahaha! How is someone like Theodora Twist, the ultra-sexy actress who is actually dating twin brothers at the same time, supposed to become a regular teenager? Shes never been one!

Emily, on the other hand, is a regular teen. She has a few friends, but has never run with the popular crowd. No one hardly even knew who she was until its announced that Theodora is coming to live with her and that a TV show will be filmed at her house and on school grounds.

At first, Emily and Theodora are off to a rocky start. They dont have much in common&at least on the outside. But soon, Emily is helping to ground Theodora and Theodora is helping Emily spread her wings. There are the inevitable clashes with the in-crowd, but if Theodora can put paparazzi in their place, a few peroxide blondes dont phase her.

I read this book close to the same time as Secrets of My Hollywood Life by Jen Calonita, which was an interesting juxtaposition. Whereas Kaitlin is a good girl at heart, Theodora is the quintessential bad girl though she does have a good heart (when she listens to it). The details of her life and the secrets she lets out tell readers of a seamier side of Hollywood.

Recommended for readers aged 14 and up, especially those girls that want the inside scoop on just how bad Hollywood can really be, and for those that like to root for the underdog (which, depending on how you think of it, could be either Emily or Theodora).

When I first started reading the book I was surprised how far the author went with some of the thing Theodora went thru--particularly the casting director thing. Ick! And to have Dora only 13 when he propositioned her? It made me wodner how often that stuff goes on & of course how many young actresses got their careers started that way. Frightening stuff.

I was also surprised by how advanced Dora was for her age and the fact she had an affair with an older married actor when she was so young. I did think the datign two twins at the same time was a little much to show how far from a normal reality she had gone.

The high points of the book, and the areas that showed the best plot & characters, were seeing how Emily's mom had changed since she had re-married and had a baby. The scenes with Em furious that her ste-dad put all the parenting stuff on ehr mom was brilliant cause I was totally feelign the same way. Another scene that hit me was when she asked a guy to the movies (a Theodora Twist movie naturally) and she gets upset that afterwards the guy's so wrapped up in how "hot" Theodora is that it's hard for him to come back to "reality." Also, the part where he admits he doesn't even know her name is heartbreaking!

All in all this is a good story. A little advanced for some readers, but a well-thought book.

How does one clear up the party-girl reputation of the most famous sixteen-year-old teen star in Hollywood? By sending her back to her old town to live with the absolutely normal family who is currently living in her old house, to star as an absolutely normal teenager in her own reality show, of course!

The reluctant party-girl is Theodora Twist, born Dora Twistler. The "absolutely normal" host is Emily Fine, whose name only about three people in the entire school know. She lives with her mom, stepdad, and baby half-sister. Theodora's People are delighted because Emily is perfectly average, which will be the best thing for Theodora's reputation.

The two girls have in common that their fathers both died, but other than that they think they are opposites. Can Emily and Theodora survive living with one another for six weeks, up until their prom, for which their dates will be picked through a Blind-Dating Game? Does Theodora really like Emily, or does she just put on an act for the camera?

THEODORA TWIST is different from other novels about teen starlets because it's got heart. You will learn to like the characters and their flaws, and cheer for them through their emotional ghosts. The side story about Emily's growing family is also very touching and real. THEODORA TWIST is a quick but touching read that any girl can enjoy.
