If you could see the future, would you want to? After the disturbing visions Riley and his friends see turn out to be more than hallucinations, fate takes a dangerous twist in this dark and suspenseful page-turner. Riley and his friends are gearing up for their senior year by spending one last night hanging out in the woods, drinking a few beers, and playing Truth or Dare. But what starts out as a good time turns sinister when they find a mysterious pair of binoculars. Those who dare to look through them see strange visions, which they brush off as hallucinations. Why else would Riley see himself in bed with his best friend’s girlfriend—a girl he’s had a secret crush on for years? In the weeks that follow, the visions begin to come true...including a gruesome murder. One of Riley’s closest friends is now the prime suspect. But who is the murderer? Have Riley and his friends really seen the future through those mysterious binoculars? And what if they are powerless to change the course of events?

MY THOUGHTS
This book was not exactly what I was expecting. I was expecting a book with more life-threatening dangers and murder mystery. Yes, there was a murder mystery, but it wasn't as face-paced and dangerous as I thought it would be. The murder mystery mainly including a bunch of teenagers trying to figure it out themselves. Which is fine, but it wasn't really what I was expecting based on the synopsis.

What I really liked about the book is the idea behind the binoculars. This book felt very realistic, but there was the addition of these binoculars that these teenagers stumble upon. These binoculars gave let them see memories of the future, which was a very new idea and I loved the combination of magic with all the realistic elements.

As the story went on, I became very interested in how the binoculars connected to everything and, yes, I was interested in the murder mystery. Although, I was eventually disappointed as they were told who the murderer was instead of finding out on their own, but I was interested as it lasted.

One issue that I had was the characters. They made some pretty stupid decisions I was especially upset when it came to Riley and Sarah. It also irritated me that it took so long for them figure out what the binoculars were doing.

IN CONCLUSION
Overall, I did like this book. It was entertaining and had a very interesting idea. I had a few issues with the characters and the slow-pacing of the book, but I did end up liking it.
