Today is a relatable story about a child excited for the day to arrive to visit family and enjoy time together. However, waiting for THAT day to arrive while the day that is NOW is frustrating. The back of the book offers tips on mindfulness and ways to focus on the here and now so you remain patient and calm while waiting. It also makes a good point in the story that after a great day, you can always use your memories to keep them in your mind. The illustrations highlight the child’s emotions and the text makes it friendly for young readers to follow along even though it is about an abstract concept.
