Twilight (Twilight #1)
User reviews
About three things I was absolutely positive. First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was a part of him and I didnt know how dominant that part might be that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him (Twilight by Stephanie Meyer, 2005). The New York Times Bestseller, Twilight, keeps readers thirsty for more! Stephanie Meyer uses descriptive words, which allows reader's to imagine every little thing. Although sometimes it can become a repeating, I mostly look at her adjective and adverb use as a way to make the book more interesting and original. When Bella Swan decides to leave her sunny home in Phoenix to Forks, WA, a place with constant rain and humid weather, she would have never expected to meet Edward Cullen. On the first day of school, Bella meets Edward, a student who acts as though he is repulsed by her, and his family. Despite their beauty and good looks, they were seen as unpopular and strange. Bella questions herself as to why Edward is being so hostile towards her when they just met. What she doesnt know is that he is trying to resist the powerful scent of her blood. When Edward courageously saves Bella from a dangerous accident, she starts to realize that he has some sort of powers and although Edward doesnt reveal his true identity, he begins to develop a relationship with Bella. Hopelessly in love, Bella chooses to ignore the constant warnings given by Edward that he is a dangerous and bad monster. Through the intriguing clues, she discovers that his warnings were real and that he and his family were vampires, but not the stereotypical kind. Bella soon finds herself trying to run away from a vicious and threatening enemy who is on the hunt for her. Will Edward and his family of powerful vampires be able to save her? To find out, read the book; it will surely amaze you. If you are expecting the usual violent vampire book, this wont be the book for you. Of course it does have its violence and even comedy, but it mostly rotates around the romance between Edward Cullen and Bella Swan. I think Twilight is a must-read for teens and adults who are eager for a strange and unusual romance between an overprotective vampire and a clumsy human. From when you first start the book to when you have finished, you feel like you are a part of the book and like you know the characters as though they are family. You laugh when its funny, you get angry when Bella does something stupid and you desperately wish you were as lucky as Bella Swan. Overall I give this book a rating of 5/5 for its amazing ability to suck you in. |
Twilight is about a girl named Isabella Swan (who goes by Bella). Bella moves to Forks and is immediately drawn to Edward Cullen. He is like no one she has ever met before and she realizes that sometimes things are not what they seem.I fell in love with Twilight when I started reading it. I would read it whenever I had time and I couldn't stop reading it. When I was reading this book I felt like I really was in the story. This is one of the best books I have ever read and quite possibly my favorite. I will definitely be rereading this book many times.
I did not understand the obsession at my school for Twilight, but when the movie was about to come out I bought the book and fell in love immediatley. The characters are beautiful and Stephenie Meyer transfers you to Forks, where Bella Swan is going to live with her father since her parents are divorced. When she gets to her new school she meets Edward Cullen who she later finds out is a vampire. Edward loves her unconditionally and does whatever he can to make Bella safe. Even though he is thirsty for her blood, his family are "vegitariens" and only drink blood of animals. And, he doesn't want to hurt Bella. During there journey together, they run into the Nomads, who are the "Bad Vampires", and James (a member of the Nomad Clan) instantley starts tracking (hunting her down to drink her blood) Bella. You will have to read the rest to find out the journey of Bella and Edward. Alice Cullen is my favorite character and I respect her for her quirky personality and she reminds me of me! Although Twilight is still my favorite out of the series, I reccomend getting them all! I am a serious Fanpire, and own a life sized Edward, posters, a calender, many twilight shirts, buttons, magnets, stickers, and more. So if you don't want to be obsessed, I wouldn't read the book! ;-) *Please excuse my misspellings.
This is my second favorite book of all time. I love this book because it's about vampires and I'm into that sort of thing. All the creepy and scary stuff. Though this book I could probably give to a 6 year old and it wouldn't be scary. This book is fabulos, I hate all the romancey stuff but this book was AWESOME! Now the movie I can't say the same for because Kristen Stewart- GOTTA GO. Taylor Lautner- stay as long as you like. ANYWAY, if you haven't read this book (I'd be shocked if someone hadn't) READ IT.
I remember sneaking this book from my mom and reading it in the dark so she wouldn't know I had it. Seriously the big was like crack to me. I COULD NOT stop reading the book. As soon as I set it down, somehow it was back in my hands and I was reading it again.
WOW. that is the first word that poped into my head after i had read this book.
I didn't expect much, I'm not the biggest fan of vampire romances, but this book jumped straight to the top of my top-5-books list. 'Twilight' by Stephanie Meyer is the first of four books. The sequels to this fanastic novel are 'New Moon', 'Eclipse' and 'Breaking Dawn'.
It is about Bella Swan, a 17 year old school girl who moves to rainy Forks Washington to live with her father in order to allow her mother to travel with her new baseball-playing-husband, Phil. Bella detests Forks, but goes for her mother. on her first day at Forks High School, she see's the Cullen family. They are unbelievably beautiful, and Bella is transfixed by there glorious faces. Edward Cullen is in Bellas biology class, and appears to take an instant dislike to her. After a shot absence from school, Edward returns and Bella finds herself fascinated by him.
This story is a modern day love story between a human girl and a vampire. You will not be able to put down the book until the very end, and will rush out straight away to buy the 3 sequels.
this book is soooo great i love it at first its not the best a little ruff around the edges but when there 2gether i just smile so much my lips are going 2 come off u have to read this book its great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
the obbsessive twilght fan
What a great book for teenage girls. This book has sparked a love of reading into many! Fast read and full of love, drama, and angst. Great for teens of all ages. Enter the world of Bella and Edward and join them on their journey to love one another. Also, learn how not only vampires play a part in the book , but also werewolves. Bella is friends with both, but can the vampires and werewolves learn to associate with one another or will Bella have to make a choice between the two?
As a 7th grade teacher, I've heard the word "Twilight" almost every single day this school year. My students are hooked on this series!! I have read the book and I've also seen the movie and as usual, the book is so much better than the movie!! The book tells us a lot of background about Edward and Bella that the movie leaves out. While reading the book, it's easy to put yourself in the characters' minds, in the movie, it isn't.
I would recommend the book for anyone over the age of 10 or so. It has a wide appeal.
I'll admit it. I was a reader that got caught up in the TWILIGHT craze. I originally read the book back in 7th Grade. Once Breaking Dawn was coming out i decided to read the whole series. I fell in love with Edward. Bella annoyed me with her neediness toward Edward. Maybe that's because i was crushing on a fictional character. lol. In my opinion, TWILIGHT was the best book out of the entire series. I have read that book at least 4 times. I'll admit that whenever i'm low on cash or can't get a hold of any new books i'll start by reading TWILIGHT again before i resort to any other. At parts of the book it seems like the author got happy with a thesaurus. You will fall in love with the Bella/Edward romance of it all. And the vampire part of it all just adds to the forbiddeness of it all. :D
I luuvv jacob. i no other people dont (luv edward more) and just think he's weird, but i luv his sense of humor and how he's just sooooo easy and sweet. also, alice sounds, just, awesome. i think this story plot is so creative and sweet. it really shows how love can come from anywhere and tho its unexpected, it only makes it all the more sweeter. i
