I love it The book was really good it had a good setting and  one of the perfact places for a vampire. before twilight i didn't like reading once i read it i was hooked and now i love reading the book changed my life i can't wait to read a new book now and once i heard everyone talking about twilight i needed to know why it was so popular and i love things about vampires.It had a good romance in it and i don't like much romance i'm more an action person but twilight was good with the romance stephenie meyers keep it were you won't get tired of it. i love how she put the characters and how they act stephenie knew what she was doing when she wrote this book i love how she came up with it in a dream in my opinion dreams are one of the best ideas to come up with most of my idea's come to me in my dreams.Dreams are like another world it gives you another scence of seeing things and that's why i love twilight i have more of an opinion on it and the other books but that's to long i read the twilight series in 3 weeks less than a month. GO TWILIGHT AND STEPHENIE MEYER

what i want to kno is what in the world is so great about twilight? please tell me that someone? why is the world getting so hyped about vampires. the only good thing twilights done is get former TV watchers reading. and guess what? all they read is about vampites!!! i wonder sometimes if everyone was so hyped up when dracula came out? anyway, im sure u have already heard some of what twilight is about so i guess i dont really need to tell you. and if you're with the "twilight stinks" group like me and feel presured to read that garbage, well dont worry, it'll pass...just lik harry potter. think about it. 2 years ago it was all anyone could talk about, now, the books are getting dusty on the library book shelves if you get my meaning. anyway thats all.

Many of you readers will probably disagree with me but i personally and honestly think that this book was horrible. Its about a 17 year old girl named Bella who moves to the small town of Forks. She meets, well sees, a boy named Edward who's a vampire and falls in love with him before they even really get to know eachother. I didn't like this book because Bella comes off as a whiny, spoiled teenager who wants everything. She is constantly complaining about how ugly she is and how she doesn't like life. Also throughout the book, Edward takes advantage of Bella and doesn't allow her to make her own decisions. In my opinion this book is very cliche, and anti-feminist. Bella is a total Mary-sue. Maybe im being to hard but thats what i think. I wouldn't want to read this book again. But i think everyone should try reading a book before judging it. So go ahead and get a copy. :)

The gendered stereotypes that are prevalent in Twilight are dangerous.  First, young girls grow up with the dreams of being a Disney Princesses and once they are out of that stage they are hit by societal norms and pressures. Then they are hit with Twilight.  In this novel, Bella, a smart, young woman moves into a small dreary town only to develop a small group of friends that she is never fully satisfied with.  Boys are drawn to her because she is new, but the only person she is drawn to is Edward Cullen.  Soon they begin a slow courting process and soon Edward reveals that he is actually a vampire and that the reason he is so attracted to Bella is because he would actually like to feed off of her.  Throughout the novel Bella plays the damsel in distress, constantly finding herself in trouble no matter where she is.  But do not worry, Edward Cullen will come and save her& EVERY time.  This book is problematic because it teaches young adults that this kind of behavior is acceptable.  Edward is very forceful and he tells Bella what to do throughout the entirety of the book.  He tells her when he thinks she should eat and even who is driving.  The only time that Bella does not listen to him, she ends up putting herself in danger.  Thus, future perpetuating the idea that she should have listened to Edward or gotten his approval first.  This mindset is dangerous because not only does Twilight make it sound okay to be bossed around but it also makes it seem okay to put your life in danger by getting involved with someone that is not good for you.  Yes, this is just fiction, but what happens when that mindset gets mixed in with a more factual one?  This book only teaches young people that it is okay to treat women like they do not know anything but also that it is acceptable to give up everything for someone you barely know while completely putting your own wellbeing in danger.

hated Twilight.

Now that sentence alone will get a death threat from a fan girl but let me explain;

The plot is nonexistent, the ONLY thing Stephanie Myers talks about is how beautiful Edward is, how perfect Edward is, how in love the main character is in with Edward. Edward Edward EDWARD.

The characters are flat, boring, and annoying. The Cullens are made out to be this "perfect" family with super powers, beauty and NO weaknesses. That makes for 300 odd pages of boredom.

Stephanie Myers manages to destroy hundreds of years of vampire mythology by making the Cullens unable to die. (Burst into flames pfft. Sparkle in the sun man)

Bella is an annoying little girl. I could go on for hours about her. How she "gives up living with her mom so she can be happy with her new husband" but complains about it the entire time. How she treats other characters in the book besides Edward. How she becomes OBSESED with Edward.

And don't even get me started on Edward, creepy, pedophilic, and annoying as heck.

So wrapping up my short rant I give this book a negative 5 stars due to its EPIC FAIL.

So I'll probably be burned alive by angry teenaged fangirls for this review.

But really, where they see sparkling romance, hot guys, and true love? I see Bella, a girl with low self-esteem issues and a poor family life. She meets Edward, who becomes her obsessive, controlling, overprotective boyfriend. Oh yeah, and he wants to eat her.

Bella's life begins to revolve around her boyfriend to the point where she neglects every other social activity and what's left of her family life to... what, exactly? Sit and stare at Edward, since this is a "clean" novel? I'm not sure. But it's creepy anyways.

The premise and plot are lousy; the writing style is worse. Stephanie Meyer spends whole chapters merely rhapsodizing about Edward's beauty. Please, please, please don't buy this book.

Human girl falls in love with a vampire. Vampire is torn between protecting the girl and killing her. What a dilemma!

For a vampire story, this is a surprisingly sweet romance and I was totally taken in. I'm not generally interested in paranormal books (vampires, werewolves, etc.), but I guess every rule has an exception.

One aspect of this series that raised it higher than the typical YA fluff was the author's references and parallels to classic works of literature (Pride and Prejudice, Wuthering Heights, Romeo and Juliet). For that reason, I think this series will have a wider appeal.
