This book is very heartbreaking. I'm not even sure I like it. It is a very hard book to read, and you WILL cry if you cry often.
So there's a man, a slave named Tom, and his master need to sell him and this little boy to pay off a debt. The little boy and his mother run away and live happily in Canada, but Tom is sold to a mean man in Orleans, and then on the way there is bought by a nice man. Tom lives happily on the plantation for a while until the man's daughter,Eva, dies and so does "Mas'r" and everyone is sold to different people. Tom is then sold to another mean man, and he never sees his family again
This book is a true insight on how people thought about slavery. Even anti-slavery whites were a little prejudice in those times including Stowe.
I recommend it to people who like long books.
