If you love the ocean and all of it’s mystery, you need Under Water, Under Earth on your bookshelf. This book is just filled to the brim with little images and bits of information that you probably don’t know! It’s the book you probably don’t realize you need!

I personally have never been the biggest fan of the ocean (sharks may or may not freak me out), but this book was fascinating and definitely changed my mind A LOT. It really informed me more about our enormous ocean, but also the things that lurk beneath our very feet.

There probably has not been a better time to educate ourselves, and the younger generation, of our Earth and ocean. There is so much information at our disposal and it is only right that we take in as much of it as we can! This book does an incredible job at providing so much of that information. With all the images and bits of information written in a straight forward, yet entertaining way, it is definitely a book that will appeal to all ages.

By the time I finished this book I had already made a list of all the kids I would lend this to. It is just too great of a book to keep to myself! There are so many facts packed into this book, like the fact that an inventor once made a fish-shaped submarine out of olive wood… and it actually worked? And that at one point, certain submarines used candles to light them up? And don't get me started on all the information stored in my brain about octopuses and squids!

Final thoughts?

I have heard nothing but great things about Aleksandra Mizielinska and Daniel Mizielinski, and reading this book simply confirmed all of it! I feel lucky to have read this book, and am looking forward to reading more of their books! This is a book that science and ocean lovers must have, and a book that will pleasantly surprise those who believe they are not. It truly was a fun experience flipping through these pages, and I hope everyone will try this one out and enjoy the fun as well!
