Fresh meat! From a hospital of horrors to a runaway zombie train, it's an all-new onslaught of the slavering undead in the sequel to Kirsty McKay's killer debut!

Just when you think you're out...it's the morning after the night of the return of the living dead. Or something like that. After running/bus-driving/snowboarding for her life alongside rebel Smitty, geeky Pete, and popular Alice, Bobby thought she'd found the antidote to the Carrot Man Veggie Juice that had turned the rest of their classmates into zombies. When Smitty (mmm...nom, nom) got chomped, Bobby pumped a syringe full of it into him herself.

But now Bobby's a prisoner in some hospital of horrors, with no clue how she got there. And Smitty is missing. What if he isn't cured after all? Bobby knows she's got to find him, even if it means facing Scotland's hungry hordes -- plus Alice's buckets of snark -- again. And this time, zombies aren't the only evil stressing her out. The brain-dead are bad enough, but how can Bobby stop the big pharma business behind the epidemic? Especially when her own mom works for the company?

Unfed is the wild sequel to the great horror-comedy novel Undead by Kristy McKay. If you haven't had the chance to read Undead- I highly suggest picking up the book. Just like Undead, Unfed is filled with action, and wicked humor. It's more than just a zombie book.

Unfed starts where Undead finishes. McKay doesn't waste anytime jumping back into the action. Just as you finish the first few pages - the zombie count starts. Things are stepped up a notch as the zombies start to grow intelligence and start becoming true foes. Bobby has learned a few things with her encounters in Undead, and readers find her not only smarter- but funnier. You have to love a girl who can keep a sense of humor even while being chased by zombies. McKay gives the reader a story that is well balanced between action, gore and witty humor. The action sequences help increase the tension and suspense- always leaving the reader more. As I reader, I truly became addicted.

McKay does a great job building the characters and their relationships. She keeps the reader guessing. Unfed is definitely a book zombie lovers should pick up. Fans of Carlie Higson's series the Enemy would also love Mckay's Undead and Unfed.
