This is the type of book that I can see giving a boy that is a little too young for the series of unfortunate events series. It will keep even the shortest of attention spans.
The thing that I like the most about this author's books are his tone, and this book is no exception. He seems to be having fun and relays that to his readers through asides within the novel. I can see this book catching the attention of a low-level reader, but the asides might make for some confusion.
