This much anticipated sequel does not disappoint! Vortex has a much darker tone than Insignia and I love the twists and turns.Readers dive right back into Tom Raines life. Tim's life is in flux. Not only does he still have to deal with having a super computer in his head, he must figure out who really is his enemy. Are people really who they seem?
Vortex is a strong second installment to the Insignia Trilogy. S.J. Kincaid does a fantastic job developing characters' growth and their relationships with each other. The author flawlessly weaves in details about the technology that makes up Tom's world without distracting the reader from the man plot line. The action is nonstop and keeps pages turning. I have to admit, the minute I opened the book and could not put it down till the wee hours of the morning. Even though Vortex just came out, I am anxiously awaiting the final installment.
I love Vortex as much as Insignia and would recommend the series to anyone, young and old alike. Readers of The Ender's Game will love this series as well!
