The father and son know if they care properly for the acorn they planted, and diligently look after it, then one day it will grow into a big, strong tree that will produce acorns for the whole forest to enjoy. Themes of family, sharing, and the importance of patience are all strong throughout the book.

It is a wholesome and enchanting story with simple language that is perfect for younger readers. I found that the full-page illustrations were detailed and striking. These illustrations feature many adorable animals that come to life on the page. 

WE'RE OFF TO THE FOREST shows that even the smallest pleasures can have big impacts, and make the best memories. I gifted this book to my sister for her woodland-themed nursery, and she was delighted with it. We are both looking forward to reading more from this author.
