First of all, when I look at the cover of this book, I thought of the creepy boy on the cover. I thought of the moon behind him. I thought of his eyes. I thought of the full moon. But most of all? I thought of the title.

Wereling. Wereling. This book is something new. It gives a twist to the werewolf tale. It also gives a twist the demon world. Vampires, naturally, pop in time to time. Witches and all that good spells and the bad spells and curses. All those good stuff.

To me, this book is a tiny sliver of refuge. All the books I had read recently were all about psycho people and killers and romance. Actually, there is a bit of that in this book. JK. There is a LOT. Assassins and Murderers. Yep.

The truth is that this book has a very different kind of killers than the ones I am used to. Demon killers and murderers and assassins. My thoughts: whoa! Sweet mother nature! Demons! Whoo! I want to read that!

Before Reading: My thoughts?
1) interesting cover
2) werewolves?
3) I love werewolves!

While Reading:
1) Whoa there!
2) Awww.. so cute
3) what?
4) why!!! Why this cliffhanger?

After reading: Tortured by this book.

To me, this book was smooth. The writing was clear and understandable. Some moments of the book was slightly questioning, but the answers were there. I love how Mr. Steve Feasey explain things. Many authors just don't do it as well or don't explain it at all. What an excellent book to read. Highly recommended.

The characters were good. I love the main character. He was sooooo romantic. *Sigh really loud* Ahh! He's so adorable. He is a perfect gentleman.

This book's review is a four out of five.

Right from the start I have to say that above all else, reading Wereling has reminded me that trying something different often times ends up being a fantastic idea! Reading a male point of view is not something I'm used to, nor do I usually seek it out. I'm not quite sure why I picked this book up, I know it wasn't the cover (that kind of scared me) but whatever the reason, I'm just glad that I did.

It was a nice change of pace for me and a good break in routine from what I normally read. Feasley's writing is quick and gripping. He sets a break neck pace from start to finish and had me stressed out through most of it...but in a good way. It was suspenseful and addicting.

With characters like Trey, Lucien, Alexa and Tom, I never knew what to expect but enjoyed myself the whole way through. It was a great cast of characters and they were incredibly entertaining the entire way through. I found myself easily relating to each of them and felt concern and empathy for them as they went through their struggles within the novel. But along with the suspense and anxiety, Feasley managed to throw in a good bit of humor and kept things light when I found myself needing a short break from all the stress.

I did however find that I needed to know what would happen to Trey and how he would handle all of these new revelations that were being thrown his way. I wanted to learn more about Lucien and whether his intentions were good or not, how dark was his past really? Is Tom as easy going as he seems, and how can he possibly survive with everything that's going on around him? And of course I wanted to know if anything would develop between Trey and Alexa beyond a platonic friendship...this might not be a romance but in some ways I'll never change, I'm always a sucker for a little bit of young love, lol!

Feasley kept me on the edge with these questions in my head and although some were answered by the end of the novel I found the my list continued to grow. I've always loved a series and Feasley has not disappointed me. I think I have a very good chance to see Trey and this bunch in the future and can't wait to reunite with them.

I enjoyed this book!  It starts off strong right away with Trey waking up to a trashed room.  From there the action doesn't stop coming.  What I really liked is that it doesn't play the "try and figure out what I am game".  Instead  you find out quickly what is going on.  I liked that because it allows the story to focus on a bigger problem Trey faces, instead of focusing for pages and pages on hints about who or what he is.  The pace doesn't let up. As soon as Trey finds out the whole story of who he is, his uncle begins to help him control and use the powers he has.  Almost immediately he is forced to use his new powers to fight creatures who are determined to kill him.  These scenes were intense, and I found myself holding my breath during them.  The final fight scene was great - I loved how it was set up to make you question what you thought you knew.  Although the ending left a lot of things unknown, I didn't feel overly frustrated.  Instead I'm anxious to see how Trey finds more answers and battles those against him.

I do have to add that I loved Alexa because she was a strong girl - not a girl only in need of saving.  She is the often the one that helps Trey gain control of himself when his emotions threaten to overrun him.  Its fantastic to have a girl that, although she loves shopping, she's very capable of taking care of herself.

Final thoughts: Full of action and not just hints.  I see it as a great book for boys who are done with the Chronicles of Vladimir Tod series.

Best stick with you image:  When Trey fights Lucien the first time.

Best for ages: 12+
