"What this bedtime needs is a pig in a wig ... " and so begins a fun bedtime story that makes me think that every picture book should have a pig in a wig!
The pig in a wig starts her bedtime routine off in the normal manner. She brushes her teeth. She combs her hair. And she goes to bed with her pink teddy bear. Then things get really interesting--and loud--as the rest of the animals on the farm want to tuck themselves in.
This book is perfect for snuggling in with a pre-reading youngster, and it's awesome for early readers too. The illustrations are brilliantly basic, and there's something worthy of comment and conversation on each page. When reading the book I was reminded of two of my favorites: Seuss and Boynton.
I'm new to the Pig in a Wig books, but this one won't be my last. I'll also add Virján's books to the list of titles I give as gifts.
