My kids have thoroughly enjoyed Sophie and Bear's former Canadian adventure book, Where Are You, Bear?, for the last two years. I was therefore happy to see a 'sequel' to that kid's book, this book that now explores the concept of opposites during their vacation to New York City! Though the writing is simple and not necessarily very creative, the illustrations really bring out the opposite feelings experienced by Sophie and Bear as they encounter all of the wonders of the city--Sophie always enthusiastic and Bear, a little bit nervous and frightened. In the end, though they differ in their feelings on NYC, Sophie and Bear remain the best of friends.
