Today, Hunny has an odd sensation of feeling sad. He has no idea why and can’t explain it but he just feels down. His friend Funny knows just how to cheer him up and that’s with some jokes. Funny begins to tell him all of the jokes that come to mind, but it doesn’t seem to be helping Hunny. It isn’t until an unexpected event happens that Hunny finally smiles.

WHY DID THE MONSTER CROSS THE ROAD is a silly book about monster jokes and friendship. Funny says the most out of the box jokes that really aren’t all that funny but he’s trying so hard to cheer his friend up. Everyone feels down sometimes and it’s nice to have a friend to help pull you out of it. The illustrations are just as silly as the jokes and will draw some smiles from children as you read.

Final Verdict: I would recommend this to children aged four and up who enjoy stories about monsters and who love to laugh at jokes. It’s also a great way to discuss emotions and feelings and to help children understand them a bit more.
