I didn't read this book for a very long time because I was unsure about whether I would enjoy it. It seemed like such a hit or miss book, I could either love it a lot or really hate it, so I just didn't read it. Finally, after reading a review that praised certain aspects of it, that I was sure I would like it I decided to borrow it from the library. I am certainly glad I did! It was an amazing book, I love the background story, the imperfections of the characters and the way things ended. While I enjoy a happy ending, I find I prefer an imperfect ending, where while everything wasn't resolved to make everyone happy, things worked out in the best way that would be realistic. I was very pleased with how everything went, there were so many ways that everything could have been resolved in a way that would have been terribly cliche and bleh. Fortunately that was not the case, which made me love it more than I thought I would, I can't wait to read the next book now.
Good Points
The fae, the romance, the characters

I had
been meaning to read this series by Melissa Marr for quite some time
before I actually picked up the book. I'd been seeing the series pop up
numerous times on various different review blogs/sites. Plus, they had
cool cover art, which, of course, totally drew me in. I picked up the
first book,
Wicked Lovely, while I was house-sitting, and finished within a few hours (usually a sign that I enjoy it).

I enjoyed the book, and have since finished the sequel (Ink Exchange). I
guess what I enjoyed most was the simple fact that the relationships
weren't cliché. I can't really go in-depth with that comment without
giving away any spoilers, but I'll just say that the relationships
seemed very natural/realistic, which is rare in stories involving
magic/faeries. In my opinion, the only thing that could have made the
book better would have been a little more background on Aislinn's
parents. We do get some small tidbits of information, but I was left
wondering more about them, and how her grandmother knew about faeries.
I'm hoping more will be revealed in the third installment (
Fragile Eternity) that can answer that question.

I picked up this book when they got it in at my library. To be truthful the pretty cover was what drew me in at first but then I read the back and was pretty intrigued. I liked this book but not as much as I had hoped. It had a very good start but the middle was kind of boring. The end was what I had expected with not really many surprises. I still liked the ending but had hoped for something more exciting. Even though this book was not all it had lived up to be I still want to read the next one in the series.

Well, i read Wicked Lovely after hearing from a friend that it was a good book.  I was however deeply dissapointed in it.  It was terribly unoriginal with a witch that a girl who turned into somthing she's not used to had to defeat.  The plot was quite inapropriate as well.

Wicked Lovely is pretty good, but I wouldn't say it's as good as Twilight. It's about a girl named Aislin who can see fairies, but she has to pretend that she can't see them or they will take her sight away. Her Grandma can also see fairies and has taught her the rules to advoid them. But what happens when the rules aren't working and a boy fairy talks to her. It also turns out that the boy fairy is a king and  wants her to be his queen. This boy is also very handsome. But these fairies aren't like sweet, fiesty TinkerBell alot of these fairies do horrible things. Aislin also has a friend that ends up being her boy friend who seems to be the perfect guy. He has tatoos and lip peircings, and really cares about Aislin. Aislin doesn't know how to handle the fairy stalker, she ends up becoming one. I didn't like how the fairies were bad, I think it could have been better if they were nice. But this book is pretty good. Thats why i give it a 3.

This book was extremely difficult to get in to. The beginning was a bunch of jargon about faeries and court fey that I didnt understand. I was really glad that I stuck with the book though because it was alright at the end. Through the book the author switched the point of view from the main character to some other characters which I loved because its always great to see the views of all of the characters. I loved the moral of the book also which I found to be that even though it seems like your choices are limited and you dont want to do something with the cards you have dealt, you will always have the choice which you should always cherish. Especially here in America we have the freedom to our own decisions which can make our lives better if we will ourselves to cherish our opinions and choices. There are a lot of mentions of sex in this book but it seems appropriate since the girl is in her late years of high school it seems. It was a great book that I liked but I know that a lot of kids wont want to read about these faeries especially because the first three chapters aren't engaging because of how confusing it is. I did buy the next book in the series because I got interested in this one but I still havn't started reading it after two months because it isn't as addictive as Harry Potter and Twlight.

I won an ARC of this book because I normally wouldn't have picked it up on my own.I liked it but some of it was so unreal , and I don't just mean the fairies! The relationship between the main characters was so perfect and sweet it was almost hard to read at points. What boyfriend and girlfriend don't EVER fight? Once you get past that though the book is pretty good.I would recommend this book to book lovers that like books like Thithe and Valiant.
