Winning Ways is a highly recommendable book for research and reports on women in sports. This book covers plenty of ground an dis very detailed. Winning Ways was a Booklist Editors' Choice and a School Library Journal Best Book of the Year.

Winning Ways begins with "The 1800s: A Century of Progress" and ends with 1998. All over are drawings and photos depicting women in certain times and how they relate to sports. This book covers athletes from Frances Willard who learned how to ride a bike in 1892 to Bonnie Blair and Mighty Mary. There's a timeline, suggested reading, and much more!

Reading this is very gratifying. Winning Ways shows you how far women have come. My favorite picture is of Janet Evans after a swim. There is also a diagram of sports I enjoy too! I recommend this book for girls 11 and up.
