Combining quotes with detailed illustrations, WUTHERING HEIGHTS: A COLORING BOOK brings the classic story to a new visual wonder.
Elisabetta Stoinich does a stunning job capturing the aesthetic of the Gothic Wuthering Heights. The pages range from character drawings to sweeping landscapes of the moors to everyday items with spooky edges. The line details are gorgeous, especially in the character designs. Heathcliff looks as broody and tortured as ever, and Catherine’s face holds her prideful air. The quotes selected for the different pages have a nice range from the most famous to lesser-known ones that are still crucial to the story.
All the line detail makes this coloring book perfect for colored pencils. Depending on the intricacy of the page, you can easily get lost for a few hours selecting different colors and patterns. If you wanted to make an afternoon of it, I would suggest listening to an audio of Wuthering Heights while you color. Crayons, watercolor, and markers are still fine to use on the page, though crayons may be a little too thick to use depending on the page. Markers and watercolor also might not do as well as colored pencils, but the pages are nice and thick for little to no bleed through, should that be the preferred tool.
Coloring and classics fanatics alike should grab this atmospheric, richly detailed WUTHERING HEIGHTS coloring book and get lost in the story of Heathcliff and Cathy once again.
