This is a lovely version of the old classic Dutch lullaby (the original title was simply Dutch Lullaby) by Eugene Fields. Giselle Potters illustrations are dreamy art confections sure to soothe with their lovely multilayered shades of blue and twinkling stars.
The poem was originally published in 1889 and consequently has a very old fashioned feel. It works well with the illustrations, which also have a bit of an old fashioned feel to them, and is sure to become a favorite for every nodding head. Recommended for parents everywhere who want a new beloved bedtime tale to end the day with.
