Even bunnies do yoga!

It's a perfect day for yoga, and Bunny is practicing his poses and wishes his friends would do yoga with him! But Lizard is too tired, Fox is in a rush, and Bird has the hiccups. Will Bunny ever be able to get his friends to slow down and realize that yoga just might be the solution to their problems?

Akin to I Am Yoga by Susan Verde, Yoga Bunny helps readers relax and unwind as they learn beginning yoga poses, from downward dog to tree pose. Debut author-illustrator Brian Russo shows readers just how relaxing yoga can be.

YOGA BUNNY is a quiet book with simple illustrations that detail the poses Yoga Bunny does when he wakes up to a perfect day for yoga. Through the pages of the book,Yoga Bunny tries to entice his friends to join him, but Lizard is too grouchy, Fox is in too much of a hurry, and Bird would rather live with hiccups than do yoga to stop them. The attitudes of his friends don’t deter Yoga Bunny from continuing with his workout, and when a couple of mice decide to join him, Yoga Bunny’s other friends gradually see potential in the curious positions.

Although the narrative doesn’t always make sense, and there isn’t much action propelling the story, YOGA BUNNY will have some appeal for its intended age group and the illustrations will prompt readers to give the poses a try. The charming endpapers detail many of those poses (as performed by Yoga Bunny).

The book ends with “Some Facts About Yoga,” and the writing in this section is incomplete and a bit disjointed. That said, most toddlers and preschoolers probably won’t get to that part, so it’s not enough to stop me from recommending the book.
