Of Mice and Men

When I first picked up this book and read the back, it seemed like it would just be a boring story where nothing ever happened. Don't make this mistake and not read this book!
This was a relly great story. Seinbeck made it so exciting and emotional, and it made me laugh and cry, and I loved it! I was engaged from the beginning to the end. The ending was perfect. It was sad, but it was perfect. When I finished the book I didn't just put it down and forget about it. I had to keep thinking about it and I couldn't stop. I loved the ending.This is a great book and you shouldn't just look at it and say,"it looks boring." because there's so much more to it than it seems.

i think this book was a really nice book. we had to read it for english class and the whole class seemed to like it. i like how george takes care of lenny and doesn't give up on him. even though george kills lenny at the end of the story, he does it for the better because if he didnt kill him, lenny would suffer greater death.

George and Lennie are two guys who travel together. They are good friends but are very different. Lennie is forgetful, having to repeat things three times to remember them. He likes to pet things: mice, puppies, and other soft surfaces. Hes a little slow mentally but is a great worked cultivating land in ranches. Lennie is also always finding way into trouble, of course unintentionally and without meaning much harm. George is always taking care of Lennie and getting him out of trouble. Together they get to a new ranch in Soledad after finding trouble in Weed. In this new ranch they meet the workers, the bosss son Curley, and his flirtatious wife. Ultimately what George and Lennie want is their own promised land, a place to call their own and to do what they want on it. This becomes a hard feat due to Lennies getting into trouble a lot and forgetting what George taught him.

Of Mice and Men is a tale which begins low-paced and a little on the boring side until things start getting into place. Lennie and George are magnificent characters, John Steinbeck depicts very well what I think of a migrant workers around the 1930s. Lennie is my favorite character due to the fact that he is always trying his best not to get into any trouble. However, he is illiterate and this is a hard thing to do. He always turns to George to help him and George is always there. The ending is a string of all the events that went throughout the book and it is a very phenomenal ending at that. This is a book I wont forget because of the impact it has at the near-end and end. This book will cause happiness, sadness, a little laughter at Lennies naiveness, closure, and a feeling of all of these at the same time. Please go out to read this book& it is short, well-told, and a definite thumbs-up.

George Milton and Lennie Small are two travelers looking for work. George is an avergage sized man with an intelligent mind. Lennie is the exact opposite from George and, ironically, his own name. Lennie is large in stature with great physical strength but a weak mind. He loves animals but always kills them because he does not know the extent of his strength. George always takes care of Lennie. They finally find work in a ranch near Soledad. But trouble soon arises and Lennie is in danger of his life.
I did not enjoy reading this book, it is too depressing and has got to be one of the shortest books I've ever read as a teenager. I don't recommend this book.

this book is about two men, George and Lennie, who work on a ranch in California, following the great depression. George acts like the big brother to Lennie because, even though he's strong, Lennie is slow in the head. it basically just tells about the lives of Lennie and George on their ranch.

it was an interesting book and i enjoyed reading it. even though it possess a lot of bad language, i would recommend it to kids 13+

Of Mice & Men is the story of George and Lennie, two migrant workers wandering in California. George is a small but caring man, who is left to take care of Lennie when his aunt dies. Lennie is a large man with the mind of a child and likes to pet soft, pretty things. When Lennie scares a girl by touching her dress, he and George run away and find jobs at a ranch. George constantly complains about having no freedom because of Lennie, but deep down he always takes care of Lennie and wants the best for him. They have a dream of owning a farm someday, but when the inevitable happens, it is George's moral responsibilty to do what he has to do.

I had to read this book for English class, and it's actually a very good book. The best part of it was the ending, which was very sad and kind of depressing, but eventually you will understand why George had to do what he did. There are many complex themes and foreshadowing in this book, and Steinbeck did a good job showing them. I think teens will find Steinback's narration of the story boring,the way I did, but really love the plot.

A parable of commitment, loneliness, hope and loss, of mice and men is a powerful and moving portrayal of two men striving to understand their own unique place in the world.
This book was really good! A quick read which at first seems so simple, yet there is so much more to it when you actually reflect on the book upon finishing it.

I'll admit I agree it did have a lot of swearing. But if they didn't it wouldn't sound as realistic. The work of Steinbeck wasn't to be proper but rather to teach others of values thats hard to overcome. But by puting others in that situation and having to put it in a book I rather say it is an inspiration. I was thinking of becoming a author. I realized the more human qualities you put in it the more it makes you realize this could happen to you. I had to read this story for school and I thought it was a lot of swearing that I couldn't take it. But as I kept reading it sounded like a lot of teens are going through. You have people you have to look after and take care of and do whats best for them and not all about you. Thats something I learned and fully understood from the book. When Lenny wanted to tend the rabbits the more he spoke of it the more it seemed real to him. So for a person like him thats something he could accomplish like a child with a dog. The swearing was all background the lessons learned from it is the characters that everyone should be paying attention to not the background or the details on the props. That's why I enjoyed it.

this book has wwaaaayy too much swearing. they swear at least 3 times per page. the story itself isn't bad, but the language could have definately been avoided.

This is a book about two men, Lenny and George. Lenny is kind of retarded and George promised Lenny's aunt that he would take care of him. In the end George has to end up doing something he really didn't, but it was for the best.

I liked this book a lot, it was funny and sad at the same time.

I would recommend this to anybody.
