Merlin has a vision of the spirit Dagda, who warns him that Rhita Gawr is set on conquering his world. Meanwhile, other evils fill Fincayra: the wicked king Stangmar has escaped his underground prison and a mysterious menace called Slayer is killing all children.

I did not want to read this book, did not want the series to be over. But I have to say it was a grand finale.

Even if I had hated the first four books, I would have read them just so I could read this one.
