Never has an Alice Mckinley book ever failed. Alice is a character you can relate to so much in real life. She is like your best friend! This is the latest book in the Alice series. She's a sophomore in high school and things are changing. It's time for her Dad to get married to Sylvia Summers, her junior high teacher. Her brother Lester is moving out. And her relationships with friends and kids at school are changing, as well. ALice learns that life is all about growing up and dealing with new experiences, good and bad. She learns that even though things may not go as planned, you have to learn to work through it, and it'll be alright in the end.
All the Alice books have a great lesson to teach. They are all filled with humor and fun. This book was very realistic and showed how Alice felt lonely during this time of change in her life. It delt a lot with the wedding, and less with ALice's friends Elizabeth and Pamela.
Overall, if you are an Alice friend, of course you'll have to read this one. Another book is on the way, since this one ends in a way that shows new things are sure to come in the future. I can't wait!

In Including Alice, we can finally read about one of the most important events in Alice's life: her father's wedding to Sylvia. At first, Alice is extremely excited to be part of something she's been looking forward to since forever. She has the support of all her friends. Alice is really busy making her wedding present, meeting the family and making sure that the wedding will be perfect.

But something happens at the wedding that worries Alice-Sylvia's ex comes. She gets the help of her friends to make sure nothing happened. The wedding was perfect and Alice is ecstatic. Then, her parents go on a honeymoon.

After the wedding, a lot of changes happened in Alice's life. Things with Patrick are changing. Penny and Alice are finally attempting to get along. But the worse part, her father and Sylvia are spending more time together and less time with her. What will Alice do?

I thought that this book was ok. I was looking forward to the next Alice book, but I was a bit disappointed. The story centered way too much on the wedding and not on other things. And Alice really needs to have some kind of romance in her life. The book was good, but could have been a lot more interesting. Including Alice is still a must read for all Alice fans! I'm still looking forward to reading the next Alice book.
