The third book in the Echo Company series gets away from Mike and the members of Echo Company and focuses on American nurse Rebecca Phillips. Eager to spread Christmas cheer throughout the hospital, Rebecca loses the holiday spirit quickly after being stranded in the middle of the jungle.

This book can be a little disappointing to those who have become attached to Mike and the other characters from the first two Echo Company books (they only make a brief appearance in this one), but Rebecca quickly becomes a wonderful character in her own right. The book is very tense and dramatic.

One more book follows this one in the series. There is also a sequel entitled "The Road Home" by Ellen Emerson White (Zack Emerson's pen name).
