The final book in a trilogy (following "Teetoncey" and "Teetoncey and Ben O'Neal"), the story picks up with Teetoncey and Ben leaving home after the death of Mrs. O'Neal. Teetoncey is bound for London, while Ben is ready to fulfill his lifelong dream of becoming a sailor. But of course, plans never go smoothly when Tee is involved, and their lives continue to intertwine when Tee stows away on Ben's ship.

The most rollicking of the three stories, this book is both a fun adventure and a well-done portrayl of a boy-girl young adolescent relationship. An epilogue provides readers with a satisfying conclusion.
