Your teen years can have some of the biggest changes in your life. Besides the headache of dealing with puberty theres school, friends, cliques, homework, hobbies, drivers licenses and parents to worry about.

Life is never easy, but what if you found out that someone had gone through the same thing? Nerves Out Loud is a collection of seven short stories about life-changing experiences in the life of the authors. Yup, you guessed it, all of these events take place during their teenage years.

What is that one event that, when it was over, you were never quite the same? This question is explored by each author in their own heartfelt story. What would happen if you had dedicated your whole life to something& and then decided to quit? What if you suddenly realized that you wanted to kiss your best friend& whos also a girl? Is it alright to write poetry about taboo subjects like death or abuse? Are you the only one in the entire world who is going through the same thing?

The best thing about these stories is the raw truth that fills the pages. Each story is written with an honesty that can be almost brutal at moments. Each one deals with a different problem, but all are pivotal moments in the lives of each author. The fact that each story is true offers teens a glimmer of hope, as each and every author overcame their problems to become successful writers. No matter what problem you are dealing with, youll find something here to relate to.

Recommended for older readers, especially those who are feeling lost or uncertain about their lives. As a caution, this book does deal with several difficult subjects such as drug use, rape, domestic violence, eating disorders, and a few others thrown in. Some of the subjects are dealt with very honestly, so younger readers should exercise caution before picking up this book.
