WARRIORS ROCK! Sixteen-year-old Jericho is psyched when he and his cousin and best friend, Josh, are invited to pledge for the Warriors of Distinction, the oldest and most exclusive club in school. Just being a pledge wins him the attention of Arielle, one of the hottest girls in his class, whom he's been too shy even to talk to before now.

But as the secret initiation rites grow increasingly humiliating and force Jericho to make painful choices, he starts to question whether membership in the Warriors of Distinction is worth it. How far will he have to go to wear the cool black silk Warriors jacket? How high a price will he have to pay to belong? The answers are devastating beyond Jericho's imagination.

WOW
I read this book a while ago and it has stuck with me. I think Sharon brought to our attention a hazing problem that man areas have. Her characters were all very real acting and I loved reading from their perspectives. My favorite was Dana but I think that the way the treated her and what they did was really wrong to her. I believe that Shannon is an amazing writer and she deserves all the recognition she gets.

this book lik so many of drapers books, was very sad. its about this boy named jericho. hes not as popular as his funny cousin Josh. he has a crush on this girl named arielle. he also plays the trumpet and football. anyway, so jericho, josh and their friend kofi, are invited to help this popular high school fraternity. they are thrilled and soon find out they are possivle candidates to be actual members. as their initiation into the club continues, jericho gets his girl, but kofis girl dana who also decides she wants to join the all boy club, is being brutally hazed as the other trainees are. jericho more and more is doubting how much he wants to be in this club even tho he knows hell be popular. but then they hav to "tale a leap of faith" and it ends tragically. one of the best books ive read from draper. a must read:)

The Battle Of Jerico is about a boy named Jerico who is invited to pledge for the fraternity called The Warriors of Distinction. But as the pledges progress things spiral out of control. Will he make it in before things get out of hand?

I read this in one sitting on the way to Cape cod and it is one of my favorite books. It was deep and shows the true face of Hazing. It was a powerful book with a strong message. It is unforgettable.

An eye opening book about school clubs and hazing lets us see the dangers that can occur. To think that you would pay any cost to get into a club is ridiculous. Jericho and his cousin learn that they should never have been willing to do absolutely anything to join the Warriors of Distinction. Nothing can be so great. Soon enough they learn the prices they pay, believe me that cost was too high.
