Marsh Seaver can't wait for summer to start. He has some great plans that will involve his best friend Cooper. Problem is Cooper doesn't want to be a part of Marsh's plans. Marsh is bummed but to make matters worse he starts hearing things. Then he comes face to face with a character right out of the pages of his sketchbook.

Marsh doesn't know why he's seeing these things but later is convinced it has something to do with Cooper, who has gone missing. Now it's up to him and Cooper's gorgeous but aloof sister Sydney, to search for the truth. In the meantime both of them stumble on a nightmare even worse than they could have imagined.

This is a suspenseful tale that keeps you guessing what is going on. Is Marsh having hallucinations? Or is the character from his notebook real?

I was confused with the prologue. I didn't know it starts with the POV of someone else in the story. Only until later did I figure it out. Some of the pacing is slow and there is a tad bit telling at the beginning. But once Cooper goes missing and Sydney gets involved, the story picks up. I did like the old fashion like horror element to this story. It reminded me of one of those classic horror tales that isn't too over the top with gore or violence. Marsh develops as a character on his journey to find out the truth. Another thing I wanted to know was what exactly was that globe thing he broke? I have a feeling the author will address this more in the sequel.
