Christmas Classics (Graphic Classics #19)

Just in time for Christmas! This is an anthology of Christmas tales told in graphic novel format.

I love graphic novels and this one has some fun twists of classic Christmas tales.

My favorites include the timeless "Christmas Carol", which is condensed enough while still holding on to it's ageless charm. I loved the graphics and feel to this story.

I also enjoyed "A Luckless Santa Claus." This F. Scott Fitzgerald tale is about a bet a woman has that her rich fiancee can't give away 25 dollars during a busy Christmas season evening. What happens is hilarious as the tight fisted fiancee finds out that the so-called low lifes are leery of someone handing out money.

"A Chaparral Christmas Gift" by O. Henry is a classic tale of a woman who choses between two suitors. The rejected one shows up in a Santa's suit on Christmas Eve hoping to get his revenge. I love O. Henry's short tales and this one is sure to appeal to his fans too.

"The Wondersmith" by Fitz-James O'Brien was creepy and not what I'd consider a true Christmas tale. A bunch of sorcerers plot to use the souls of demons and put them into dolls. The whole idea of having murderous dolls rise up and kill their owners is well, a little much for me. But then again dolls that come to life to exact revenge has always creeped me out.

There's other tales included too. What's fun about this book is the collection of different tales by a number of authors. A fun collection to any graphic novel fan.
