For twenty-one-year-old Sydney, being in love with Kyler isn't anything new. They'd been best friends ever since he pushed her down on the playground and she made him eat a mud pie. Somewhere over the years, she fell for him and fell hard. The big problem with that? Kyler puts the 'man' in man-whore. He's never stayed with a girl longer than a few nights, and with it being their last year in college, Syd doesn't want to risk their friendship by declaring her love.

Kyler has always put Syd on a pedestal that was too high for him to reach. To him, she's perfect and she's everything. But the feelings he has for her, he's always hidden away or focused on any other female. After all, Kyler will always be the poor boy from the wrong side of tracks, and Syd will always be the one girl he can never have.

But when they're stranded together at a posh ski resort due to a massive Nor'easter, there's nothing stopping their red-hot feelings for each other from coming to the surface. Can their friendship survive the attraction? Better yet, can they survive at all? Because as the snow falls, someone is stalking them, and this ski trip may be a life-changer in more ways than one.

Never doubt the power of JLA’s writing. I swear to you, I was going through quite a serious reading slump for almost a month where NOTHING interested me. Because I had deadlines to meet and my own TBR Challenge to tackle, I knew I had to do something to get me out of this funk, so, I grabbed Frigid.
Problem, solved.
Frigid is phenomenal. Just pure JLA perfection. I don’t know how she does it, but Jen has the ability to create such entertaining and engrossing plots that keep you glued to the pages. She creates such mesmerizing and relatable characters that truly resonate with you. And, I just adore her witty and humorous writing style that sets her apart from all the other authors out there today. In Frigid, you get two best friends who’ve secretly been in love with each other for years, who get snowed in together and eventually come to terms with their feelings for one another. Add a bunch of hilarious one-liners (like “Oh sweet baby Jesus on a merry-go-round”), some sweet and steamy moments, entertaining dialogue, and a bit of mystery and suspense – well, you’ve got yourself an outstanding book right there.
Kyler. First off, I have to say that JLA needs to stop creating such irresistible and swoonworthy guys! I want them all! I was immediately attracted to Kyler and loved him more and more with each page. He’s pretty much your typical charming, good-looking guy who can sweep any girl off her feet, but he’s also a real good guy at heart, totally not a douchebag at all. I loved how attuned he was to Sydney, even though he didn’t know she loved him, and it was cute seeing how they played off each others words and actions. I think what got to me the most, was how innocent and sweet Kyler is. When he inevitably learns of Syd’s true feelings for him, it’s like “wow, she actually likes me” in a humbling way that portrayed him thinking how lucky he is for Syd to even consider him, which isn’t something you’d expect from someone who exudes confidence and sex appeal like Kyler does. There are definitely smexy times and that boy can steam up a window like nobody’s business, but I loved his sweet and caring side the most. He really got me with that ending, I’ll tell you that.
Sydney would probably be one of the very few female characters I’ve read about that I’ve truly connected with/related to. She reminded me so much of myself, I loved her right from the start. There were quite a few moments where I seriously thought I was reading about myself, it was crazy. Oh, if only I had someone like Kyler though. After feeling a bit jaded from her last boyfriend, it’s not hard to believe that she thinks she’s not attractive or sex enough for someone like Kyler. I liked that even though it broke her heart to see Kyler go from girl to girl, she was still a great best friend to him so much so that I felt the ease and naturalness of their friendship come alive from off the pages. Being inside her head was great too, as she had some hilarious thoughts here and there, and you know I don’t say that often because I tend to dislike being inside a girl’s head. I think, besides Alex from the Covenant series, Sydney would be my favorite JLA girl.
Frigid will leave you desperately wanting more and wishing you had someone like Kyler in your life. Just, sigh…Kyler. I think what I loved most about this story, besides Kyler himself, was how genuine and touching Syd and Kyler’s relationship is. I loved catching glimpses of their friendship in the past and just how strong their bond really is. Easily one of my favorite books from JLA, Frigid is an endearing, heartfelt love story between two fantastic characters that will have you smiling from beginning to end.

What I loved: As with any of JLA's books I have read, I became instantly hooked. This is one of my favorite story lines--best friends who secretly have more than friends feelings for each other. Sounds like it could be a big cliche' right? Well, Frigid has more to it. Not only is there romance but there is a suspense element that helps move the story along. Once you start reading you won't want to put this book down.

What left me wanting more: I was a little upset with myself for reading this one so fast. Once I reached the end, I was sad to see this story over.

Final thoughts: Fans of Armentrout's shouldn't be disappointed in Frigid. If you are a romance fan be sure to add this one to your TBR list. Follow the age range on this one, this is definitely not for the younger reader.

What I Loved: Love, romance, suspense and swoon, FRIGID has a little bit of everything.

Kyler and Sidney have known each other forever so there's no insta-anything. Their relationship, which plays out in this fast paced alternating POV, is like a slow burn that ignites and builds before finally erupting like a volcano of feels when they're stuck in a cabin during the Snowpocalypse. Did I mention someone might be trying to kill them too? Yeah, that's not stressful to the characters or the reader--much. O.O

I'll be the first to admit I am the worst person to watch a scary movie with because I constantly yell at the character(s) onscreen. "You can skip that shower tonight and leave those trashcans outside until the sun comes up, and for the love of all that is holy, DON'T GO IN THE KITCHEN! YOU ARE NOT HUNGRY ENOUGH.TO.DIE! DON---*sighs* Well, I hope that sandwich was worth ALL THE STABS YOU GOT!" *shakes fist*

FRIGID garnered a similar reaction and there was some yelling at these characters too, but in the "I've become invested in your story and I don't want to watch you die now." kind of way. I mean, really Syd, Kyler specifically told you to STAY.INSIDE! and---okay, I don't want to spoil anything but this is definitely one to read if a) You're a NA fan, b) Love JLA's books, c) Want a story with characters who will warm your hear right down to your toes or d) all of the above.

What Left Me Wanting More: How long do I have to wait for the next JLA book to come out? ;)

Final Verdict: Who needs milk, bread or T.P. during a snowpocalypse when you can hang out with Kyler?

*Strong language and sexual situations.

I'm sorry, was this supposed to be serious?
I laughed at all of the dirty parts. yes. Laughed. Why is that? Because they were just so pathetic and unrealistic and absurd , and disgusting. Kyler and Sydney were just like armentrouts other characters that if you took the names out I couldn't tell the difference. Another reason why I hated this crap: Sydney was the most pathetic and by that I mean down by Bella Swan, female character my eyes have read about. She whined a lot and needed to be rescued to much. Kyler was super annoying too. Whenever Sydney would talk to a guy, it wouldn't be okay, but when ever kyler talked to a girl it was fine. And the worst part was that Sydney was just like oh whatever ok. Now, to the reasons why I laughed. There was this one scene where the power went out and they needed to stay in the same bed to"keep warm" haha yeah. So Sydney was sleeping and then Kyler (unconsciously of course!!) started to put his hands down her pants on her lady junk because Sydney (of course she is!) isn't a fan of I quote "wearing panties to bed". I laughed so hard at this. So hard. Because it was just so pathetic. And also of course Sydney just stays there until Kyler "wakes up" to her making noises. And then he acts all surprised because of course every guy does this in his sleep, and of course he didn't know what he was doing because of course he was sleeping. Oh and what also was pathetic was when these attackers come into their house because Kyler banged one of their girlfriends and wanted revenge so they almost kill her with a snowmobile and Sydney who (of course ) lost all of her senses and forgot to , I don't know, move OUT of the way of her impending death so that Kyler had to save her. Then these guys come back later and one of them almost rapes her so she has to wait until someone can save her because she is too fragile to fight back.

Oh boy, where to start with this one. The first half of the book was awesome and I loved it but as I kept reading I got more and more irritated with both Kyler and Sydney.Once I finished the book and allowed myself time to think about it,I began to realize exactly how aggravating this book was.

Kyler seemed to think that Sydney was a poor helpless little girl who couldn't take care of herself and the screwy part was that she was characterized in that way. That enraged me so much. I mean where are the confident women who don't need a man to rescue them? The idea of having a man "rescue" a woman makes me gag.

Sydney kept saying that she loved him but she never said why she loved him. I certainly didn't understand it. I wish we had been told what Sydney loved about him because I sure was not buying the "She loves him just because" crap. You don't just love a person because. There's got to be a solid reason to love someone (many reasons actually) and we the readers don't know what & why Sydney loved him.

The manwhore thing? Really if he was in love with her like he claimed to be,he would not have been whoring around. Yes I understand that men have needs but good god he cannot keep having meaningless one night stands and also freaking out that Sydney is simply talking to another guy. Double standard much?

Holy moly if Kyler called her baby one more time I was going to barf all of my coffee up. Especially since he was calling her baby even before they got together. Um I have good male friends but I would never let them call me baby. Heck I never let my ex boyfriend call me baby.Seriously Sydney has a name. Why were the cutesy pet names necessary?

Honestly towards the end I started skimming. The confrontation with the masked guys was really boring and pointless. I was waiting for Kyler to rush in and save her (gag) but thank goodness that wasn't what happened. Of course I wanted Sydney to rescue herself so to speak but that wasn't what happened either.

Oh my goodness the ending was predictable and corny and it made me ill. After all of that they are still together and I still don't know what it is that attracted them to each other.

For this book to be set somewhere in the snow, I guarantee that it couldn't get much hotter. JLA has done it again. Now I have yet another super hot, super sweet fictional guy to add to my super long fictional love interest.
In short, JLA has done it again. Captivated my heart with another guy and fully enthralled me into an amazing story. I was so into this book that I found myself reading it everywhere, including at work. And this probably wasn't the best thing for people to catch me reading lol Now after reading this, I NEED to get my hands on her other NA title, Wait for You!

*Some sexual situations occur that are not for everyone.*
