Before college, before responsibilities, Hadley Beauman and best friend Lily are determined to have a summer to remember. There will be all the usual dramas - ex-boyfriends who don't seem to know what 'ex' means, pesky younger brothers with unrequited crushes, but what Hadley didn't anticipate was the out-of-the-blue return of the seriously hot boy-next-door, Will Carson. The boy who broke her heart when he skipped town two years ago. Will may have shot up a foot and filled out (oh yes), but inside he carries the weight of guilt - for leaving, for coming back… Now he's just passing through to tie up loose ends but it's clear the old chemistry still crackles between him and Hadley. Trouble is, it's built on two years of lies… This summer might just be the best time of their lives, but is Hadley ready for everything to change - again?

A sweet romance highlighting the fragile hearts of youth.

The story:
Hadley is determined to have a good summer before leaving for college. She breaks up with her boyfriend to spend her time with her best friend working at the summer camp her father runs. All her plans are thrown out the window when her old neighbor, ex-best friend, and once crush returns with no explanations as to why he left in the first place. Two years have passed but some feelings never go away and they're no longer kids playing at love. This time it's real.

What I loved:
Hadley is a sweet an easy to root for character. I loved how strong she was in the face of a persistent ex-boyfriend and a conniving best friend. She doesn't let Will get away with his secret keeping especially when it could affect her father's camp. Even with all of that, she drops everything the moment she thinks something has happened to him.
Hadley's family was a huge bright spot in the book. Her parents were supportive and loving and her brother was probably the best boy inside the pages. The story moves along at a fast clip, leaving no room for boredom.

What was just okay:
This isn't a criticism, more of a warning. This book isn't YA. It's more NA with an explicit scene.
Lily was a really horrible character. Even when she apologized, I wasn't sure if I was supposed to like her or not. I just didn't. The ending was convenient, but it served its purpose in getting us where we needed to be.

Final Verdict:
A solid romance that'll appeal to older YA and adults with enough drama to keep the reader flipping pages and an ending that'll leave them satisfied.
