When Leanna's grandmother passes, she soon discovers the world of the giants. But there aren't any large beings. No, instead the giants are a collection of people who watch over all of the different worlds. It's their job to uphold order and makes sure people are behaving with kindness and don't fight. Leanna's talents are promising but Lieutenant Gyan pushes her harder than anyone else and this irritates her to no end. But a collision happens and Leanna is thrown into a different world with Lieutenant Gyan. Here, he defends her and helps guide her along an appropriate path. As they move forward, a connection forms between them and feelings shift.

The idea of different realms is intriguing, especially with the group of Giants working as the protectors of it. Leanna is a strong character who isn't afraid to stand up for herself, no mater who it's against. She goes against Lieutenant Gyan a time or two until things seem to shift between them after she learns of his past. The world-building is unique and my one problem would be the pacing of the story. I didn't have time to fall in love with any of the characters due to the speed and lack of depth. While we do see Leanna grow into a better person, the connection to her didn't shine through.


Final Verdict: The overall concept of the book is fascinating and the quick pace will hold your interest. I would recommend this to fans of fantasy, romance, and strong female leads.
