What I Liked:
This was amazing! This is easily one of the best books I have read this year. This story is told from Jewel’s PO, and we learn that she was once a goddess and she now has to reconcile her past self with her current self living on Earth. There are still a lot of mysteries left to uncover about her past. What happened to her to get her punished back in time and who can she trust? She slowly gets her memories back as the story progresses. The writing was flawless and kept my attention completely.
We meet people from her current life, the father that raised her and some of her friends. I especially liked Teddy. And we meet a few people from her past, Thoth and Anubis (and a few others). Anubis and Jewel have a special connection, and it was definitely my favorite part of the story. Anubis and Thoth help Jewel figure out who she was and understand the trouble that is coming.
What I Didn’t Like:
There was nothing about this book that I didn’t like. I was hooked from the first page and couldn’t put it down.
The Final Verdict:
You will love this story if you like bonded mates (like Feyre and Rhys from ACOTAR) and mythology stories. This book will keep you at the edge of your seat trying to figure out how Jewel got in this situation and how she is going to deal with it. It has the perfect mix of mystery, intrigue, and romance.
