Horowitz makes the whole "teen spy" concept quite believable in Stormbreaker. Though there are some very cheesy moments in it sometimes, it's a very enjoyable read, though light, so if you are in search of something a bit deeper, look elsewhere. This book is perfect for a summer read. It's funny and packed with action.
It would appeal most to elementary or middle school boys.

Ok, here we go. Alex finds out that his uncle who he has been staying with has supposedly died in a car accident, but what he doesn't know is that it was no accident, he was murdered. Alex finds out that his uncle was part of a secret organization of spies, and that his uncle was killed on the job, shot to death with a machine gun. Alex is asked to go on a mission having to do with a computer virus called the Stormbreaker. He is given a Gameby Color, but it isn't just any Gameboy Color, its a SECRET GADGET Gameboy Color with different cartridges that do cool stuff. He is also given acne cream that eill melt through any metal, but is harmles to humans. He also gets a yo-yo with super strong nylon string for climbing aand stuff. Before he goes on the mission he has to go through a breef spy training. He ends up in a tank with a giant jellyfish, and shoots off the villian's hand.

Until his uncle dies, Alex Rider is a ordinary schoolboy. But after that MI6 hires him and trains him to be a teenage super spy! His first mission is to find out what's wrong with billionaire Sayle, who wants to give a free Strombreaker computer to each school for free.

This book is full of action, adventure and modern super spy gadgets! The plot is not totaly logical, A billionaire wants to kill all the students in UK!( even still it's much better than some of James Bond villian ideas )But there is enough action to make you forget about the plot.

Horowitz leaves his trademark in this book too, the last sentence shows that It's going to be a long running series.

This super spy novel is great fun and entertaining. Very good for action Movie fans!

This book has hooked me on to Alex Rider Series. In this book Alex finds out that his Uncle died late in the night from a car crash. Alex's uncle was his only blood family left. His parents were killed in a plane crash when he was a little baby. So the only person left to look after him is his nanny Jake. A few weeks later Alex learns that his uncle was a spy!! And his boss wants Alex to finish his uncle's work. Will Alex work with him or back to being a normal teenager?

Alex Rider is leading a "normal" life. His parents are dead, so he lives with his Uncle Ian and a caretaker named Jack (even though she is a girl). When his Uncle supposedly dies in a car crash, Alex goes to investigate, and instead of finding a crushed vehicle, there are bullet holes in the windshield. This begins a new part in Alex's life.

Alex is approached by MI6, England's intelligence agency and is asked (or rather blackmailed) to become a spy in place for his Uncle and complete his last mission. Although he is reluctant to relinquish his "normal" life, Alex relizes that he has been trained for this kind of work by his Uncle from birth in ways that Alex never suspected.

After being put into a grueling training program for adults, Alex goes into Sayle Enterprises. MI6 wants to investigate, because Herod Sayle supposedly just wants to give every school in the country a new, amazing Stormbreaker, a new type of computer that Sayle Enterprises makes. MI6 thinks that there's more to Sayle's proposal than meets the eye, so they send Alex in. Alex goes with only a few gadgets from Smithers (a very likeable inventor-of-gadgets) and his wits to keep himself alive.

This book is utterly fantastic. I loved every word of it! The story is so suspenseful and exciting, I just couldn't put it down. Stormbreaker is an awesome read that's for everybody. Every page is action packed and you'll warm up to the characters immediately!

Alex Rider, fourteen, is forcibly recruited into the MI6, after the death of his uncle and only living relative, Ian Rider. Ian Rider, astonishingly, was a spy, working for the MI6 under the cover of a bank manager.

Alex is sent on his first assignment, to investigate the computer businessman Herod Sayle. This millionaire is giving away to every school in Britain free "Stormbreaker" computers, but the MI6 thinks that there's more to the offer than that.

But Sayle Enterprises is not that easy to defeat, and whether their hiding anything or not, security measures are high. Alex must be careful, because if he induces any suspicion, his first assignment will become his last...

Thrilling and action-packed, this is a novel with scenes like a movie, and an ingenious plot that leads up until that last page with that very same question - will Alex survive?

This book is excellent; what had begun to feel repetitive by the end of the series is new and exciting here, and it works well.

Yes, its ridiculously improbable, and you'll be able to guess what'll happen because then Alex can use his gadgets, but this is fun. And that's the whole point of the series, really; sure, it'd never happen, but it's nice to dream.

Definitely worth a read, particularly as I hear they're making an Alex Rider film. Plus, there's a shed load of sequels to read if you find you like it!

Hi guys!!!
This book is the first of the Alex Rider books. This is a pretty good book, not quite as action packed as the others but good.
It's about Alex becoming a spy, and stopping a crazy buisnessman with a BIG grudge!!! Alex has to use all his wits on this one!!!
And I noticed something why are all the good spies English? Ya know James Bond, Johnny English:)
Anyway this book is fairly good. If you like this try: Silverfin, a Young Bond adventure. Don't worry, I'll do a review on it soon.

This has got to be one of my absolute favorite series. I love the way Horowitz uses his knowledge and imagination to create such a plot. I love how he takes an adult job and ends up giving it to a kid, a very capable kid at that.
