Amelia Bedelia Ties the Knot is the most lovely story, bound to create lots of laughter and smiles!

The girls I read this to instantly fell for this book because of it’s gorgeous cover! Glitter + pink = automatic favorite. I knew I too, would love this book right from the beginning because Amelia reminded of all the wonderful qualities I see in girls that I care for. She is witty, curious, and her personality is both loud and endearing.

What sold me was definitely this line, though:

“Mom, just because Dad isn’t here,” said Amelia, “it doesn’t mean you have to take his place making dumb jokes.”

That was one of the MANY sassy and hilarious moments from this story that had us all dying of laughter!

This book is packed with little details and moments that will make you fall in love with Amelia and her wonderful family. While Amelia on her own could make this book, her family really enhanced every aspect of it. They were kind, sarcastic, and never grew tired of explaining things to the very curious Amelia. Anyone who has children, takes care of them, or just even know any will understand all the funny aspects of Amelia’s story and how she handles situations.

It starts with an excited Amelia who comes home to see that her aunt is there. She quickly finds out that her aunt has become engaged and later on, learns that she will be a flower girl! This whole thing is a new experience for Amelia and she has many questions! Are diamonds rocks? Carats or carrots? Bridle or bridal?

Final thoughts?

Such an enjoyable book! There is so much love between friends and family that it is so joyful and heartwarming. It has bits of everything for everyone- new information for the curious ones, jokes and sarcasm for those who love laughter, and a happy ending for everyone!
Good Points
parents and caretakers will love reading this just as much as the kids will!
