I love words! I love introducing new words to my children and my students. Daisy's Perfect Word is a perfect book for doing just that. This book is full of great vocabulary and is great for young readers. Daisy has a special notebook that she uses to make word lists. She has quiet words, sweet words, rainbow words, and more. At the end of the story there are a few pages that actually resemble Daisy's notebook with all the lists of words she has made.
I think this would be perfect to use in a classroom setting, especially if you use the CAFE strategies--tune into interesting words. The chapters are short and you could easily read a couple of chapters a day to your class.
This book is wonderful from beginning to end!
