This vibrant retelling of H.P. Lovecraft’s short story has been artfully adapted into a beautifully illustrated graphic novel that captures the cult-like mythology of the “old ones” and the creepy atmosphere of the story itself.
Shephard has captured the look and feel of a modern graphic novel in a way that really works for this classic, yet horrific science fiction thriller. The story does deviate from Lovecraft’s original work, which some fans of the original story might take issue with.
The cult of Cthulhu lay hidden across the world, waiting for a time when the starts are right and their great priest rises again. Cthulhu will rise and call for his followers to bring the world under his dominion once again.
This graphic novel retelling of a literary classic is a great way to entice young adult readers to classic literature. I highly recommend the print edition over the kindle ebook.
