A very, different book. It's about a boy going through middle school writing in a diary his mom gave him. He writes about his best friend Rowley and about his brother and his band. I think Greg is being mean to his friend and being pushy. It was good at first then Greg got more self centered as time passed. All he worries about is playing video games and  making Rowley look bad. So you will like the book if you like jerks be mean.

This book is about a young boy named Greg. It follows a year in his life in middle school.

The book is a very easy read, but that doesn't take away from its humor and the comical drawings add to its charm.

Greg is just a normal boy and his problems and family are relatable in many ways.

The book is a fast read, so there's no reason why anyone should turn it down. You'll laugh quite a few times before you're done. I really liked this book and believe that anyone no matter their age should give it a chance despite its somewhat childish appearance.

this book is the first of a trilogy and its pretty funny, i mostly dont like cortoon novels, but this one was good. its about a teenage boy, just trying to deal with the problems in life, but the author throws in alot of jokes, you know to make real life funny. just give it a try, if you dont like it ,set it down for something better.(sorry this was such a short review, im having an off day)

I have read this book, and I think it rocks! It starts out with him
(the wimpy kid) saying that it is a journal and that he told his mom
not to get one with the word diary mentioned anywhere in it. The book
is about a boy named Greg Hefley. He loves video games and whenever he
is grounded from them he sneaks a game to his friend Rowleys house and
plays it there. I guess that you could call this guy a& how should I
put it& well he is very& moronic. Of course, I cant really say that
because he doesnt do much that would make him a moron and he usually
is the one, in his journal of course, calling other people morons. He
has a brother named Rodrick. Rodrick has a band called Loded Diper.
Of course, that isnt how you spell it, and if you told Rodrick that,
it would be news to him! Later in the book, he gets a job as a school
paper cartoon writer. He and Rowley were going to use a comic called
Zoo-Wee Mama!. They gave up on that one and used a comic called
Creightin the Cretin. This book is very funny, and I hope that
everyone else who reads it loves it as much as I did!

Greg Heffley's mother gives him a diary for him to write down his thoughts, much to his dislike. The book is told in comics and diary entries and is very funny. It is different from what I normally read but was worth it. I rate it a four because although humorous, Greg becames selfish and self-centered and, I hate to say it, he gets what he deserves! If you have some free time, pick up this book. An inside joke to those that have read the book: ONLINE CHEESE TOUCH *crosses fingers*

This book starts out promising. Greg gets a diary for his birthday, much to his frustration, from his mother. He begins to write in it about his life, his best friend Rowley, and their middle school problems. The pictures are entertaining, the dialogue is good and easy to follow. However the further into the book I got, the more disappointed I became. Greg starts looking self-centered and selfish. He treats his best friend Rowley and most everyone else, with such disrespect and rudeness, it's hard to laugh at the funny parts. I guess you could say, Greg gets what he has coming to him by the end, but instead of being humorous and understanding, the book falls short and it just seems overly judgemental.
