Dino-Zombies! by Rick Chrustowski is an exciting and engaging picture book for early readers who celebrate Halloween. Dino-zombies of all shapes and sizes come out to hunt for candy on Halloween night, but these zombies aren't scary. They eat sugary candy to survive, leaving little for the other trick-or-treaters.

There is a lot to love about this cute story. The illustrations are bold and colorful. There is something to find on every page from candy falling through a dino's stomach to bones and a bit of gore (all kid appropriate). I especially enjoyed the rhyming nature of the story. It keeps young children engaged and helps with sounding out some of the harder and larger words.
