Eerie is a thrilling paranormal romance and an engaging mystery. Hailey Hartley enrolls into the ParaScience University in Alaska after her sister Holly goes missing. Safety from paranormal beings lurking in the shadows and dreams seem possible at this unique school. The Envoy, called Asher, is a ruthless creature but has feelings for Hailey. The book has an exciting plot and engaging characters.

The location of the ParaScience University in Alaska does allow for the supernatural elements to be more compelling. Also Alaska is so far from Hailey’s home and regular life, it drives home the fact that her life has so greatly changed. The thought put into the world building of this book is good. The other students at the ParaScience University are great and quirky.

Hailey Hartley is certainly an interesting character. The disappearance of her sister is the starting point of the supernatural change in her life. From then on her life will never be the same again. The really vivid nightmares are a key part to the plot. Asher is an immortal creature called an Envoy who wants to kill Hailey to save her. Finn is a boy who likes Hailey but is controlled by supernatural elements also intent on killing Hailey.

This book will easily be loved by those who have enjoyed reading Harry Potter, Twilight, and other such books. A sensational teen paranormal romance that held my interest right to the very last word. Irish dancing, a ParaScience University, and immortal creatures are just some of the exciting things to be found in this book.
Good Points
1. The ParaScience University in Alaska
2. The supernatural/paranormal plot
3. The well written and quirky characters.

I love Eerie from beginning to end. What moved me was the dedication to finding out the reason why Hailey's sister got killed. Hailey gets invited to a college in Alaska where, believe it or not, she lived with a banshee. Hailey's interaction with her roommate reminds me of the roommate I had when I had to love in a dorm room...only my roommate couldn't turn into a spider.

I really hope that there is a "part two" to this story.

I've heard the book described as a cross between Twilight and Harry Potter. I'm not sure that does the story justice. While it pulls elements of paranormal, C.M. McCoy creates creatures and characters I've not seen before, like the Envoys. It's new, refreshing and every bit the page turner you want in a novel series. I don't want to spoil anything, this is simply a MUST READ, even if the genre isn't normally your style.

C.M. McCoy weaves a story with unique characters taking you on an emotional rollercoaster, one moment biting your nails the next laughing.

Don't start this unless you plan to sacrifice sleep, or a social life, or frankly anything that requires you to put it down. I waited until my newborn and toddler were in bed and stayed up way too late trying to absorb every amazing detail in the story. Those two sleepless nights were worth every single second!

The second book is not out yet, but I cannot wait to get it in my hands and tear through every page. At least 3 times. With a pot of hot coffee ready.

I absolutely loved this book!! From the very beginning the author grabs your attention and holds it throughout the book. I had a very hard time putting this one down. The story flows so well that you don't even realize how quickly you are reading the pages.

This story begins shortly before Hailey's older sister, Holly, is brutally murdered. Hailey and Holly were living with their Uncle Pix after her parents were killed in a house fire when she was very little. Uncle Pix helps run the pub that was left to Hailey and Holly. They, along with their newest addiction to the pub, Fin, were working at the pub the night Holly was taken. Now Hailey depends on her uncle and Fin to help her through this traumatic time.

Her grandfather and her other great uncles show up shortly after Holly goes missing. Fin is tasked with keeping an eye on Hailey while the rest of her family tries to find Holly and he sets out to console Hailey and comfort her through this horrible time. She gets closer to Fin and comes to depend on him for support, friendship and comfort. Until her sisters funeral, then Fin just disappears.

Life as Hailey knows it shifts drastically as she comes to realize that her dreams are linked to her past, present and future. In her dreams, also known as the Aether, is a man, an Envoy, named Asher. Envoys have no emotions. They were pulled from the Aether long ago by accident and want to go home. Envoys take your life energy when you die across the Aether and then back into a new body at birth. She has met him many times in the Aether. Never knowing if he's real or just a dream.

After he appears briefly at her family's pub she starts to find out more about her family and their past. She learns that her uncles are a lot older than she believed and that they know what has been going on the whole time. Asher continues to visit her in dreams and while awake. This makes her even more confused.

Shortly after Holly had disappeared, Hailey receives word that both she and Holly were accepted into Bear Towne University. She decides to go to Alaska after she graduates high school. She finds out that things aren't what they seem on the flight to the school. This begins her new learning of what all lives on earth with her. Her roommate and what she considers her only friend is a banshee. Fin who reappears on the flight there, is her RA and is quite a bit older than he looks and Asher runs this paranormal school.

Hailey's adventures with the people she knows opens up her world to new possibilities and she begins to fall in love with Fin while being drawn to Asher who could kill her or Fin in an instant without remorse. She becomes confused as to which man she truly loves. Is it Asher? Is it Fin? Does she even make it through her first year alive knowing others want to kill her? For that you'll need to buy the book!

I cannot wait to read the next book and I'm looking forward to finding out what comes next for all of the characters from the first book.

I love YA stories so I totally enjoyed Eerie.
Good Points
EERIE is a YA Paranormal/Supernatural Romance novel, BUT any age will enjoy it. Her characters are well developed and easy to understand.

Hailey Hartley attends the world's premier supernatural university in Alaska surrounded by paranormal creatures where she hopes that she can find answers to help her find her missing sister.

C.M. McCoy is imaginative and makes her story fun to read and you get drawn into it at the beginning.

I have been wanting to read this book since I seen it was released. I finally Won a print & ecopy of it. Paranormal is not my favorite genre of book to read. But this one was really good and exceeded my expectations. It also had a lot of humor, which is my favorite. I really liked Hailey she was my favorite character and I just knew something Exciting was going to happen at the end. Now I am excitingly awaiting the 2nd book in the series. Great Job C.M. McCoy!

Eerie is a very unique book. If you like Irish dancing, murder, out-cast banshees, albino ghosts that pop out of mirrors, murderous staplers, yetis, sexy guys, scary guys, and soul-wrenching drama (literally)…this is the book for you.

I was hooked from the first page. McCoy has such an awesome way with words…a way that made me like her main character, Hailey, immediately. I loved the relationship she had with her sister, Holly, as well as the rest of her Irish family. It was real and genuine. And then it just kept getting better and better! I really enjoyed that there was a change of scenery when Hailey was whisked away to Bear Towne University. It kept the story fresh, and pushed it forward in crazy-awesome ways–ways that you just can’t make work in Pittsburgh.

The only thing I struggled with was the very dysfunctional love triangle that Hailey had going on. (Though there are reasons why it is dysfunctional. It isn’t dysfunctional for the sake of adding drama, though it certainly does that.) Hailey bounced back and forth between guys so fast, I may have gotten whip lash. It would have helped me out if she had taken sides a little more, gave me someone to root for. But then where would be the fun in that?

And can I just say, the ending was AWESOME. I finished the last chapter and it left me wanting to grab the next book in the series…only then I realized I have to wait who knows how long until the next one is out, considering Eerie was released just this last week. TORTURE.
