Eleanor the Snow White Fairy is a sweet adventure about two friends trying to restore the order of fairy tales. They were given The Fairie's Book of Fairy Tales, but the stories have all been stolen by Jack Frost. It is up to Kirsty and Rachel to get the stories back.
What worked: Kirsty and Rachel are active protagonists. Their goal is to return the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs back into the book. They come up with a plan and execute it. Though one of their ideas doesn't work, they try and try again. It's a good thing to show this kind of behavior in a book aimed and marketed towards young girls.
Though they do stop to giggle and accessorize their hair, Kirsty and Rachel are two young heroines that do not shy away from adventure. They show a kind, patient, and adventurous spirit throughout the narrative. The illustrations help the reader see the action as it happens.
Eleanor the Snow White Fairy would be a perfect book for a mother and daughter to read, or a group of girls staring their very first book club.
