What if the Cuban Missile Crisis had ended in a Soviet nuclear strike against the US? What if your family was the only one in the neighborhood with a fallout shelter? What if all your friends and neighbors mobbed your family as you tried to access the shelter, so that you end up with ten people in a space meant for four, with less than half the provisions needed for the two weeks you have to wait for the radiation to go down to a survivable level? And is it even worth surviving when everything you've ever known is gone?
