FIRST BIG BOOK OF HOW THINGS WORK is packed with all kinds of information that will feed curious minds. The pictures and formatting of the book are vibrant and engaging, working together to keep children intrigued. It is divided into six sections: The Body, Machines and Buildings, Wild Animals, Bugs & Creepy Crawlers, Earth and Space. The illustrations are a mash up of real photos and cute drawings.
My daughter absolutely loved the axolotl section and how cute they were. I don't have enough words to describe everything contained in this book. It's a great educational tool for children who always wonder how things work. I think the animal section was my favorite too, but it's always interesting learning about the body, like how we see, how hair grows, etc. This compilation includes topics children might not even think to ask about, but will enjoy learning about them. "Big book" is an understatement because the pages are packed with information.
Final Verdict: I would recommend this to children aged six and older who enjoy learning about science and how the world around us works. The amount of information is endless and written in a way that's easy for children to follow along and understand.
