Fish in a tree is the story about how Ally, a girl in sixth grade, has a learning disability that makes it harder to do things in class. She has never gotten the courage to say it to any teacher, until Mr. Daniel shows up and makes her feel welcome in a class where she's different.

My favorite part is definitely the difference in personality and style between her friends. Keisha is bold and brave, and is willing to stand up to Shay. Albert is kind of a nut, and he's my favorite. He's incredibly smart, but also socially awkward and doesn't always know what to say in certain moments. He's shy, and doesn't stand up to the neighborhood bullies who give him black eyes.

Plot point is on key. The way Mr. Daniels appreciates every single person for their own personality or quality is really cool. You can tell how Ally attaches with him emotionally. Jessica and Shay are also well done as bullies, because Jessica never actually bullies Ally, just supports Shay, which I think is interesting.

Like I said, extremely hooking and a very fast read.
