First of all, I must say that although this book is incredibly disturbing and left me extremely emotional, I'm so thankful I had the opportunity to read it.

What I loved:

I loved how raw this book is. Though it was hard to read at times, the characters are so realistic, that I felt I couldn't put it down. I needed to read their story. I've never dealt with any of the issues going on in this book, but I realize there are people who do go through it, so I really felt I owed it to them to finish this story.

The characters. Sarah is much stronger than she thinks she is. Her character was hard to read at times because I just wanted her to stand up for herself, but she is very loyal, even to those she shouldn't be. James was a tough character to like. Even though I could tell he was protecting his sister, it was hard to watch him go down a road he shouldn't. His character broke my heart. I adored Sam. There's not a whole lot I can say without giving away any spoilers, but I really loved Sam and Sarah's relationship.

What left me wanting more:

This book is a very disturbing read. It deals with incest, all kinds of abuse and even murder. Though it was hard to read at times, I think its very important that this book is out there. This book can be very eye opening. I just want to make sure that people know what they're getting into when they pick up this book. It's not going to be an easy read. It's not a happily ever after ending. However, it's still a fantastic book and I could not put it down.

Overall I'm thankful I read this book.
