What I Liked: This is a cute and cozy book that you will want to pick up again and again to escape into this fantasy. Each moment goes by quickly, and the pacing of the book is perfect as the world-building goes side by side with the story.

This story begins with Not wanting to get her life back by capturing the changeling and returning her. This story then becomes much more as Not and Aisling travel together to the final destination and Not learns that so much information was not privy to Aisling. At first, Not and Aisling seem to have nothing in common and there are stark differences between the two of them so you can't picture them getting along. It isn't until further along in the story that you recognize their fears in each other, and they are able to put the differences aside to work together so that they both can accomplish what they want.

The relationship that develops between Not and Aisling is fun and sweet. It's fascinating to watch them begin as enemies and then have feelings for one another, as they navigate who they are. The closing of this story comes as a surprise, yet it is heartwarming as Aisling's family is provided with the truth about their daughter.

The illustrations are beautiful, and the color palettes go well with the story. The colors used shift as the story changes tone from light to dark and back to light when things are hopeful yet again. The illustrations do a fantastic job of aiding with the world-building as we learn more from Not about who Aisling really is.

Final Verdict: Forgive Me Not is a cute sapphic fantasy that you'll want to read over and over again to be immersed in Not and Aisling's world and happiness. This book is perfect for fans of the enemies-to-lovers trope, Nimona, Love me to Death, and A Song for You and I.
