I absolutely loved Ten Tiny Breaths (the first book in this series), so i was stoked to get the opportunity to read and review this book via Netgalley.
First of all I loved getting an update on my favorite characters from Ten Tiny Breaths. I love when authors give us a peek into the lives of characters we know and love! Secondly, I loved getting to know Cain better. Learning more of his back story, and why he does what he does. Obviously I think his characters does make some poor decisions, and he is a bit harsh on himself, but overall he is a good guy looking to help out those he cares about. I felt so sad for Charlie and her back story. What a horrible way to grow up, and I hated all the guilt she felt. I thought Ms. Tucker did an amazing job writing all the characters, their back stories and helping me actually have strong feelings for a lot of these characters!
I do have to say I feel like this book is borderline New Adult. Charlie is younger, but Cain is in his late twenties. I also think the book is pretty explicit, and had to skip over some stuff (just my own personal preference). I really love K.A. Tuckers novels, but I may have to not read them anymore due to explicit scenes.
Overall, a great story. I really do love her writing and her characters! If you loved Ten Tiny Breaths, you'll love this one!
